Harvey Family with baby macrae Park Wilmington, NC

Harvey Family in Hugh Macrae Park

I was beyond excited to get the chance to photograph the Harvey Family!

They are personal friends of mine and have added their beautiful and absolutely delightful baby, Arya to the mix, making that so much more fun! Jessica said she wanted to do family pictures for a Christmas gift to the grandparents and a little Christmas mini session for cards.

We decided on Hugh Macrae Park.  We started out with the family photos.  Arya has the most adorable smile and a big personality, for such a tiny human.  It’s always tricky trying to get the parents to worry about themselves and let me worry and getting the baby to do what I want.

I took lots of shots by the pond, in the gazebo, and some on the benches. We were disappointed to see that the little bridge was still washed out due to Florence, but managed anyway. Lighting was pretty good, considering it was cloudy, which made it super easy during editing.

We then moved to a little spot in the “woods” where they changed to their Christmas outfits.  We brought some Christmas props, including ornaments and a snowman. We gave little Arya some of the ornaments to hold and they went directly in her mouth! Loads of fun getting to capture her first experience with Christmas!

Believe it or not, this awesome baby was still up for more when we got home.

We wrapped her up in some fairy lights and had a blast! Can’t wait to do more with them!

Kita Family of 8 in Downtown Wilmington

On a beautiful afternoon in June, the Kita Family and I set off to Downtown Wilmington for a full on photoshoot.

They have two parents and SIX kids!

I did some looking around at local spots that would be able to accommodate such a large bunch and still get good scenery for pictures.

We stated off at the Riverfront where we got some with the C.F. Memorial Bridge in the background.

Then we flipped around and got some in front of the courthouse fountain, on the steps and in a really nice doorway on the side of the Court House.  I got them to stand out in the middle of Front Street and hold hands. We ventured over to Embassy Suits to this awesome stone wall located out front.

The perfect wall for getting the kids to line up, tallest to shortest.

They were a lot of fun to photograph and very photogenic!
